Ice Kings Announce Management Changes

The Ice Kings have announced that Dean Whitney, who served as the team’s first Head Coach and General Manager in the 2020-21 season will return to Fox Creek to assume those same roles for the upcoming 2022-23 season as well as taking over the team’s ownership.  “I’m excited to return to Fox Creek and continue to build on the program that we started two years ago.  I’m looking forward returning to Fox Creek.  I enjoyed my time when I was there before and have made a lot of great friends in town.  The town has been very supportive of the team in its first two seasons and has quickly become a very desirable location for junior players thanks to the amazing facilities at the Multiplex, great billet families, a dedicated volunteer group and the support from fans and local businesses.  We will get to work right away in our efforts to bring a championship to Fox Creek while continuing to provide a valuable experience for our players and help prepare them for future opportunities both in hockey and in life.”

Aside from Whitney’s return as General Manager and Head Coach, Tyler Scobey will be returning for his third season as Assistant Coach while also assuming the role of Assistant General Manager.

Watch for more posts in the coming days as we will have several announcements regarding our staff, player signings, results from the GMHL Draft to be held this weekend and more.
